The Inn of Escalante

Liked: The room was cute, nice solid rustic furniture and a high ceiling, though I wasn't crazy about the skylight first thing in the morning. Good hot water and pressure. Disliked: I think having no human contact at any time during the stay is no way to run a hotel. Everything is done through your phone or a contact number to reach some call center for a faceless corporation, with no one on site to ask a question or get advice on restaurants, etc. This lack of hospitality was driven home by the rather rude sign on the front door of the establishment listing six different ways to say "Go away, don't bother us, this is a private residence." Hey, it's also a hotel! Also, absolutely no wifi, and a TV on the wall that is apparently just there for decoration? A 'rustic' hotel that feels like private equity at its worst.

Liked: We like the rooms, the western ambience and location in Escalante Disliked: The rental company failed to send us the entry code so we were lucky to run into a room maid for help.

Liked: Great, affordable place to stay in the Grand Staircase zone.

Liked: Strange fun location. Sit outside by my room look at a tiny courtyard could hear farm animals next door. Bed was huge log made mural with fence and barbed wire on wall. Disliked: Keyless entry was very confusing. No hosts. Walls were so thin you could hear snoring all night from other rooms and every word others were speaking. Tv didn’t work. No Wi-Fi and half of the outlets didn’t work.
